I am a member of the ENT staff at Mcgill university since 1996. I had the good fortune of training at McGill and part of my training included a weeklong trip to the arctic with Dr. Baxter, in order to service the native population of the North.

 Without hesitation, I can say that the week in 1993 in Iqaluit, was one of the most memorable and inspiring weeks throughout my medical and surgical training. I not only learned how to provide medical and surgical care in a remote region with limited resources and equipment, but I also learned how to interact with and relate to people from an entirely different culture, in a foreign language, on their homeland.

This was a unique opportunity for me to get to know Dr. Baxter and to share many fascinating stories and discussions with him one on one. I am forever grateful for having had that experience.
