television and radio

When we were kids living at home, Johnny always had old tv's in the basement, the type with tubes and he would tinker with them and try to fix them, the basement would have old radios laying around too.  When I lived with him and his family on Hager Avenue I could hear him with his moris code beeping into the night and a radio going always.  Johnny always talked about television, antenaes and free channels coming in from over Lake Ontario.  His laughter was something I loved to hear, he was so funny and talking on the phone with him when he watched "Our You Being Served" he would just be cracking up.  His love for Sauble Beach often came into the conversations.  My last conversation days before his passing was his wish to take the great grandchildren on a train ride.  Sadly he didn't get to do that but his wish will be fulfilled one day.  To the family I hope you one day will experience the waves of Sauble Beach together and take the train ride with your dad in spirit.  Blessings to you all.  Love Aunt Marj
