Our little trips

As you all know, my Dad loved this trains.  I remember at Christmas, when I was around 5yrs old, when he got this first brass train from my Mom(thenJohanna) his first wife. The joy on his face.  After that, my bedroom was changed into his train room. He did a beautiful job of building a platform, which would fold up into the wall.   If any of you may remember, the Gas Company , in Grimsby, at Christmas time, he displayed his train set display for all to see.

Then, when he got older, and Sylvia passed away, I would come to visit him  once a week to see how he was doing.  I loved my visits, driving to Fort Erie to see old locomotives, packing a lunch , eating in a park, or just sitting together in his living room , taking cat naps together, as he would hold my hand as he slept, in this big lazyboy chair........ and then we would listen to Andre Rieu, and even somtimes I would get a dance in ;the kitchen.

I thank you Patricia for looking after him.  Too bad it ended the way it did.

My love Helen Lefebvre/Devrieze
