Every time we would travel from Grand Island to Guelph to vist family, we would always stop in at Aunt Stella's for a visit (usually coming and going). No matter how long or short the visit was supposed to be, she would always insist that we stay long enough to have something to eat and drink. For the most part, you dd not say no to her because it would hurt her feelings to leave without having something to eat with her. Auntie's favorite saying would be "here Larry, eat, have some more" no matter how many helpings you may have already had. Then she would say "Larry, have a drink" and she insisted you have one and when your glass was empty, she would insist you have another one. Auntie wanted to make sure you NEVER left her place hungry or thirsty. After we moved to Texas, our vists were not near as frequent, but every time we came to Guelph, there was never a doubt that Aunt Stella was on our visit list. There were a couple of times that we did not tell her in advance we were coming and would show up un-announced. She would always be so surprised and happy to see us. And again, as mentioned above you could never just visit, she wold insist on preparing a meal for you. Family meant a lot to Aunt Stella and she instilled that in all of us over the years. We will never forget you Aunt Stella and you will always be loved and remain in our hearts forever. Good bye and now rest in peace with Uncle Walter.
