'57' Chev convertible

I well remember this car coming down Brookside Ave. way back when I was a wee girl.  How exciting it was especially the time Aunt Marilyn (before she became our Aunt), came roaring down the street in the Chev in summer, radio blaring rock & roll, with Hawiian leis around her neck and leis for all us kids.  There was a promotion going on at the Diary Queen where she worked at the time.

I also remember how much fun and carefree Uncle Sid seemed to be, playing guitar, harmonica, trumpet, wearing the big furry hat and uniform, lots of music, tape recorder even.

When he was still living at Granny's with us, and getting ready to go out for an evening, which was often, I'd ask, 'Where ya going Uncle Sid',?   Reply - "Going to see a man about a dog'.  Not a good answer to a kid because of course I would get excited and asked  "Can I come with you?   Then he had to come up with another answer why I couldn't go with him to ever see that dam dog.

(Note:  Uncle Tommy used that line  on us back then too).
