FISS, Sharon May

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at Hamilton General Hospital on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at the age of 71. Beloved wife of Garry for 46 years. Loving mother of Susan Abbott (David) and Kathy Moore-Crispin (Simon). Cherished grandmother of Lorne (Mikaela), Abigail, Maysie, Emily, Dallas, William and Thomas. Sharon will be fondly remembered by her siblings Heather Peat, Clifford Peat (Noli) and Beryl Schakelaar (Gordon) as well as many extended family members and friends.

Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Monday, October 14, 2019 from 6-9 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at Shoreacres Bible Chapel, 370 Shoreacres Rd., Burlington, on Tuesday, October 15 at 11 a.m. followed by reception.

As she raised her family, in loving her Lord and Savior, it was her desire that her children and grandchildren would grow and know Him. Camp Widjiitiwin, in so many ways, contributes to her grandchildren’s spiritual growth. For this reason, in lieu of flowers, we ask for any charitable donation to go to Camp Widjiitiwin. Donations may be made online at or in the mail to Muskoka Bible Foundation, Attn: Camp Widjiitiwin, 8 Pioneer Ave, Huntsville, ON P1H 2J3

My deepest condolences to Sharon's family. Sharon was a special Directing Registered Nurse with CarePartners for many years and prior to that a Community Nurse in CarePartners Niagara Branch. I have known Sharon all these years and I convinced her that we needed her expertise in palliative care for our eShift Team at CarePartners. Sharon gave freely of herself to the program and her excellent work helped us build it to have a great reputation. I know everyone at CarePartners within the eShift Program and beyond will miss Sharon very much and our hearts are filled with sadness to lose a good friend and colleague. May she rest in peace and wishing her lovely husband and family healing in their special memories of Sharon.

Condolences to hwr family and friends. Sharon worked for Care Partners ehomecare program. She was one of my DRN's. We texted one another in a way to stay alert as our shifts could be long. She talked about her family and how proud she was of all of them. How many years she was married to her husband and her love for camping. Sharon will be missed as I for one enjoyed our conversation via text. May she rest in peace and may the love and support of family amd friends help you through this difficult time. A piece of Sharon lives on in her children and grandchildren. Keep her memory alive by sharing stories. Peace be with you.
