Ron, Phil, Earl and Kathy,
Growing up without a mom, I filled that empty void in my life with a number of wonderful women that I met over the years. In a way, I was very lucky, as I felt that I had many amazing women who cared for me, influenced me and looked out for me instead of just one. Your mom was one of those. She took that weird, lost young girl into her home and under her wing, and I have always been so grateful. She gave both advice and love freely without asking anything in return. I will never forget a particularly difficult time in my teens where I felt I had no where to go and no one to turn to. Your mom came home from work and met me in your living room, and just sat with me and talked, assuring me I always had somewhere to go. She never judged, and was one of the most level-headed people I have ever met. I always thought that if I ever got married, at my wedding I would honour all of those wonderful women by giving them a rose to wear to single them out as being someone who held a special place in my heart and to show my gratitude . Well, I never got married, so that didn't happen. So I would like this to be a rose for your mom. I would like to say thank you for letting me share her just a little bit, I loved her a whole lot. My most heartfelt condolences to each of you and your families for the loss of a truly lovely person. She will be missed.
