My sympathies to all members of Joyce and Bruce’s family. Uncle Duncan’s children were great favourites of my Dad (Harvey Gillies), and when they each married beautiful women and Barbara found her husband, their spouses were welcomed and loved. Mom and Dad treasured their connection with all of your family. It seems a long time since we all met at Gillies family reunions on Aunt Myrtle’s farm. Now my first cousins have grandchildren, and although we have lost touch, I am thinking of you and praying for Joyce. She was always kind, gave warm hugs and was a lovely example of a loving Mother. I wish you Grace and Peace.

Hello Keith, Marj, Greg and Jeff. It is with a heavy heart I learned from Jeff of your mom's passing. I have been reflecting on this since I received the news ... the many (100s+?) meals I ate made by her hands, the patience she had as Greg and I pushed Jeff's shoulder through the kitchen wall "Well, Kevin, I think you should probably be heading home now" with the gentlest voice, knowing full well Bruce would be walking in any minute, to the ready beer after a hot day moving logs at the cottage, to the playful laughter as Greg shot fireworks at a standing crowd. Always gentle, loving and easy ... nothing ever seemed a problem ... and her laugh "Oh, Jeff" or "Jeffrey", "Oh, Gregory". What a delight - she brought much joy and sunshine and I have many joyful and loving memories. What a gift she brought to us all. I am so sorry I will not be in attendance at the service ... but I will take some time tomorrow in quiet prayer and reflection ... and next opportunity, I will find a cold beer and smile as I remember her and all the love she gave. Love to you all, Kevin Farrell
