John Roy Yurincich
Yurincich, John Roy
Passed away suddenly on Monday, June 28, 2010 at the age of 65. Best friend, loving husband and dance partner of Mary Ann for almost 39 years. Loving dad to his true pride and joy, Joanne and her husband Bill Islip, Linda and Susan. Cherished son of Anne and the late Mike Yurincich. Sadly missed by his brother David (Patricia) and nieces, Katelyn and Laura. Also survived by Uncle John Borkovich (late Slavi), Aunt Draga Juran (late Tony) and their families, as well as other relatives, both local and abroad. For 40 years, John worked hard in the family business, the Coronation Sports Bar and Grill, alongside his dad and brother. "The Corn" was always known as the place Where Good Sports Meet. Member of the Croatian National Home, CNH Seniors Golf, CFU Lodge 954 and former member of Lado Tamburitzans. President of the Burlington Braves Alumni and President of the Burlington Men's Bowling League. As a member of all of these organizations, he was active in many roles, providing both leadership and support to all. John was a former team member of the Burlington Braves Football Club and many other community teams. He helped to develop the Burlington Fastball Club, the ballpark at Nelson and Burlington Sportsman's Hockey & Bowling Leagues. John was an avid fan of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Hamilton Bulldogs, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Pittsburgh Pirates. His other hobbies included golfing, fishing, bowling and being involved at the Burlington YMCA. John was a vibrant, fun-loving man who had a wonderful sense of humour. He brightened anyone's day, and could always put a smile on the face of others, whether it be family, friends or a stranger on the street. John made everyone feel important. He was a gentle, generous man in every way. His energy and love of life was contagious. John's presence and gestured story-telling will be greatly missed. John will always be remembered for his heart of gold.
