Joe was a kind and loving man. He always welcomed us into his home. We shared so many fun memories with him and our Nana Ruth. Seeing how he loved her was a beautiful image of marriage. And easily welcoming us and loving us like we were family was a beautiful image of love. He will be missed greatly.

When I think about Joe I think about so many things. I think about how much he loved his girls and their families. I think about his amazing success in business. I think about his ability to make beautiful things out of wood and what a true craftsman he was. I think about his love for Ruthie and of course her cooking. I think about his love for dogs and his love for the outdoors. I think about how he loved flowers and growing things and his green thumb. I think about his love and interest in the grandkids and great grandkids. I think about his love for his family and his friends. I think about his proud heritage and his love for his heritage. I think about Joe and his daily beer. I think about his stylish way with clothes and his look. I remember the long hair look he sported for awhile. I remember the day that he was suffering most and my Mom walked in and through his loss of speech he was able to say, “I love you so much” and that was greatest memory of all. We will miss you Joe.

We will always remember Joe teaching us how to play snooker or that no matter what time we came and visited, he would always have a Sleeman beer to drink with Joshua, even if it was at breakfast. But most of all we remember his lovely heart and contagious smile. We will miss him!
