Baird, Ellen Myrtle (nee Krohn)
Passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital on Friday, May 29th, 2020, one day shy of her 95th birthday. Beloved wife of the late Neil Andrew Baird (1989). Loving mother to Neil (Sharon), Bonnie and Sandra (Bill). Cherished grandmother to Karen (Tyler Redman), Jonathan and Sally. Great grandmother to Ella and Harvey Redman. Ellen is survived by her sister Ethel Robinson of Clearwater, BC and predeceased by her four brothers; Lloyd, Norman, Louis and Karl. Ellen will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, and friends out west, as well as her faithful friend Gord Campbell of Hamilton and friends and relatives of the Baird Clan.
Ellen was born in the small town of Shaunavan, Saskatchewan. After high school, Ellen left the prairies to attend school to become a Registered Nurse (1948) in Hamilton, Ontario and was a proud and dedicated nurse with 29 years of service to the Government of Ontario.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Joseph Brant Hospital who cared for our mom during the pandemic restrictions. Your compassion and “face time” helped keep us aware of her care and the special treatment you gave her.
A private family burial will take place at White Chapel Cemetery, Hamilton on Friday June 5, 2020.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Frontline workers charities of your area or Hospital of your choice.

Dear Bonnie: Bert and I were very sad to hear of your mom's passing. I know that your life has revolved around your mom of late, as it has for many years and that you have taken it all in stride as part of your normal life. Kudos to you, now she can rest and so can you. All our love always Bert and Sue

Dear Bonnie.
When Mary-Ellen informed me of your mom’s passing, I am reminded of all the wonderful times that the two of you had together. Not only were you a loving daughter, but also an amazing caregiver giving your mother unlimited support throughout her years. May your fond memories bring you comfort as you reflect on the strong family values that she has instilled in you. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

My most heartfelt condolences go out to you as you come together in these unprecedented times to celebrate the life of your mom and Nana. You were so close with and kind to your mom as you enjoyed many wonderful times at the cottage, times in Milton, as well as Burlington. Thinking of you as you hold tight to your cherished memories.
