It is with sad hearts and happy memories that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father and grandfather at The Carpenter Hospice on March 20, 2010 in his 80th year. Survived by his wife of 52 years Roberta (Bobbie). Dearly loved father of Donna Ross of Burlington, Bruce (Faye) of Harrison, NY and Scott (Jane) of Guelph. Grandchildren Jared, Brayden, Alexa, Josephine, Georgia, Noah and Jonah will all miss "My Noop". A special thank you to all the staff and volunteers at The Carpenter Hospice for their exceptional care, kindness and compassion. Thanks is also extended to the nephrology staff at St. Joseph's Hospital. A Celebration of Doug's life will be held at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Saturday, March 27, 2010 with visitation from 12 noon until time of service in the Chapel at 1 p.m. Cremation has taken place. If desired, as an expression of sympathy, donations made to The Carpenter Hospice or the Kidney Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
