MANION, Deborah Mary (nee Smith)-

Passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the age of 67. Loving wife of Eric Manion. Devoted and cherished mother of Jamie Lynne Smith (James Gilchrist) and proud grandmother of Olwyn, Mia and Eva. Dear sister of Eric Smith (Lily), Kevan Smith (Barb) and Sandra Treep (Willem). Stepmother of Andrew Manion (Annabelle) and Kevin Manion (Elena). Deb is predeceased by her Mom and Dad (Olive and Albert Smith) of Niagara Falls ON. Deb will be fondly remembered by the extended Smith and Manion families, her nephews and numerous friends. As per Deb`s wishes Private Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends in the Spring (date, location and time to be determined). Service information can be found on the funeral homes website as it becomes available in the coming months. As an expression of sympathy, donations in memory of Deb to “Operation Smile” would be sincerely appreciated by the family.

I just checked FB since I hadn't seen any posts from Deborah in awhile as she was quite devoted to absorbing and then sharing her thoughts on our world and I always appreciated the love and hope for humanity that obviously underlay it all. We were quite close in Jr. High (Princess Margaret) and had loads of fun running around the nearby fields pretending we were spies, a la The Man from Uncle which was popular at the time. We reunited on FB a few years ago. My thoughts are with the whole family as I sense what a shock and loss this is. Happily she had a close relationship with Spirit and it's easier to think of her reunited with the Divine Beloved. I'm glad for her marriage in the past years as I know it brought her lots of happiness as of course, does her family. Condolences to all. The world may be a smaller place without her.
