When a Loved One Dies During Uncertain Times

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) has had an unprecedented impact on how we live and work, limiting our ability to interact with others and freely move about in the world.  Recent months have been very restrictive and difficult for those we serve.  We are thankful that the province recently eased some of those restrictions so that visitations and funerals can now take place with the support of friends and family. Getting together for a final farewell is an essential part of the grieving process, and this is why we are working attentively with families to ensure that family members and friends have an opportunity to grieve, mourn and say goodbye to their loved ones.

The number of people allowed to gather together for a funeral or visitation has been limited by our public health authorities throughout this time - to keep everyone safe, while ensuring we can all maintain proper social (physical) distancing. We will work with families to accommodate their guests, and will continue to offer live-streaming and recording of services so that all loved ones and friends can still share in the celebration of life and feel connected, even if from home or from a distance.

Below are some additional resources to help you cope with the complexities of loss during an already overwhelming and isolating time.
