Obituary for Muriel Helen Lalonde (Pereira)
Muriel Helen Lalonde passed away peacefully in her residence at Amica Bronte on March 21, 2018.
We were blessed to have learned so many valuable lessons from “Mumu” over her 91 years. Widowed at 72 from Yvon Z Lalonde, we grew to know a new woman of strength and character. Her faith, and somewhat of a Buddhist philosophy, helped her to accept the things that could not be changed and to take joy in all life. Interesting and interested, she loved a challenge and would stubbornly pursue it to completion. She was a vegetarian before it was fashionable and we all survived the tofu experiments. Cooking was always a passion right up until Christmas this past year.
Muriel leaves a big hole in the lives of her three children and their spouses, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
