Nance, Vince, and Taylor

So sad to hear of Kay's passing. We fondly remember Kay and Lew both from the various gatherings over the years in Stoney Creek. I know that mom (Ann) would like to extend her condolences as well and would echo my observation in noting what good sports both Kay and Lew were to take part in our rather boisterous Fleming clan get-togethers when we would descend on Kilbourne Ave with the guitars, children, and dogs in tow. Each of them always arrived with a smile, a friendly hello and a hug for each of us. They were enthusiastic about the live music and I recall Kay singing along on many occasions. We continued to enjoy Kay's company as she travelled solo after Lew's passing, making the effort and taking the time to drive out to Stoney Creek from Burlington on her own to join us for our Fleming gatherings. She had great determination and spunk to continue to trek out on her own after her life partner was gone. We regret that we didn't manage a trip to Burlington's Red Lobster with Kay for lunch in 2017 as we had intended to but were unable to get everyone's schedules to cooperate. The next time my mom, Ann, my sister, Rhonda, my daughter, Taylor, and nieces, Ashley and Carly, manage to schedule a luncheon and converge on Red Lobster, we will surely raise a toast to Kay's good humour and enthusiasm and wish her spirit well. We will have some good laughs in her honour to be sure. Love to you all.
