Obituary for Leonard Edwin "Len" Hopkins
HOPKINS, Leonard Edwin “Len”
After a long and valiant fight, Len passed away peacefully at Emmanuel House, Hamilton on Sunday, October 15, 2017 – his 57th wedding anniversary to beloved wife Elaine Hopkins (nee Campbell). Loving father of Jen (Garry), Andy (Trish) and Mark (Leslie). Proud Popa of Ashley, Tim (Emily), Jack, Kyle, Kailee (Kyle), Travis and Ryan. Cherished brother of twin sister Lois Ford, and Shirley Hopkins. He will be dearly missed by his wonderful friend Jack Exley. Len was a member of IBEW Local 105 and he will be fondly remembered for his love of Harley Davidson motorcycles, dancing and big band music. Special thanks to Dr. Borden and Dr. Procter and to the nurses and staff at Emmanuel House and Carpenter Hospice for their kind, compassionate care. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Gathering will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 6-9p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Len are asked to please consider Emmanuel House.
