The Pirouette

My favourite story about Wayne involved Laura's wedding.Wayne was not a person who cared much about dressing up. He was most comfortable in his work clothes puttering about the property. He was really nervous about looking good for Laura on her big day. He had come to chat in the days before the wedding about his outfit, his haircut etc. He was so loving and sweet about it that when he came to the end of his driveway , just before he left with Laura for the church, I yelled over to him" hey Wayne you clean up well." He looked up with the biggest grin and did a full pirouette at the end of the driveway.I will never forget the look on his face that day. It was filled with pure love and joy. To me, this is the thing I will miss most about Wayne. He found joy in everything that he did. He loved deeply and quietly and I was so blessed to have him as my neighbour and friend. Thanks for sharing the journey with David and I. You will be missed dearly, my friend.
