My Aunt

The loss of  Denise is the biggest and hardest loss of my life. She was much more than just an aunt to me. She was in every way my second mother.  Through out her life her number one priority was her family and how she could look after them in EVERY way.  She was the most selfless person I have ever met and always made me feel bettter when I was with her.  She would shower me with praise and compliments even though I was undeserving and always laughed if I had a funny story to tell her.  She was so proud of me  even though there was not much to be proud of.

I will always remember her as a very talented dancer as well, she could dance any style with perfect rhythm and always loved music with a good beat.   Denise has always been a masive positive influence on me but the last six months of her life she showed me what true bravery was.  Not only did she not share the full gravity of her illness untill the very end but she insisted on staying upbeat and positive as well.   Looking back at the last few months of her life it kills me to think that she had already been given a death sentence but pretended for months that everything was going to be ok ..only to spare her family the worry.  I only hope that when my time comes that I will be as brave, strong and selfless as she was. I am so very proud that she was my Aunt and now use my memory of her  as a source of strength in my life

Rest in Peace my darling Aunty Denise (Nee Nee) , till we meet again

Mke  (Buntas #1) xoxo
