A little story to Gary. Our Cousin.
We arrived back from South Africa in 1976 and could not wait to see you all, drove my poor mum and dad mad about our cousins. I can always remember living with nan and grandad and your mum would come and rescue them from us by picking us up in a little blue car, no seat belts needed!!!!, bundled us in the back and drove us to Whitten Dean.
There, we were always made to feel welcome, your mum would always give us a tasty meal and i Yvonne would walk the park with Alison.Hand in Hand. I remember the tiny corner shop at the bottom of your road, where we would buy our sweets. Lorraine would go on your paper round with you. you had the bike and she walked it!!!
All too soon, you were winging your way to Canada. We met briefly again when you all came back to England and lived in a beautiful house in Elmswell. It was lovely. We had many lovely afternoons drinking and chatting and BBQ, where you would always manage to burn something on the menu!!!!.You had big plans for the outside building that was going to be your games room /bar, but your roots were in Canada and that is where you headed once again.
we lost touch, moved on, caught up briefly with you when we came to canada in 1997, The year we lost our mum. Life is so short, and your life on this earth was far too short. We know you are with your dad again nan and grandad and our mum and everyone who has left us, and you have a new life. we will meet again for that drink, see you later.
yvonne and Lorrainexxx
