In 1995, when I was appointed to the Bench, I had the great good fortune to be assigned to the Metro West Court at 80 The East Mall in Etobicoke. Jack was my mentor, confidante and dear friend. His knowledge of the law was unparalleled. His willingness to help his colleagues was legendary. His kindness, compassion and fairness as a beloved judge were well known, admired and respected by all. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. Words cannot express the depth of my sorrow and sadness at his passing. My love and deepest condolences to his dear family. Jack will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. “They just don’t make ‘em like that anymore.”
