Passed away peacefully at the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital on Saturday, June 24, 2017 in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Aartje. Loved father of Ralph, Catherine "CJ", and Jeff. Cherished grandfather of Zachary. Predeceased by his siblings Tina Meere, Julie Kronshorst (Chris), Minke Yska (Rinus), Hendrik and Jetze (Coba), Geke De Jong, Klaasje Pen, Dirk and Johannas. Hielke loved going for long walks or bike rides. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. As per Hielke's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at Evergreen Terrace in the Willow Room, 275 Main Street East, Grimsby on Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 1-4 p.m. with Service beginning at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
