My mom, Margaret Grinstead, was a very good friend of Helen's. I think they met through church. They were a good intellectual match for each other and their friendship deepened because of it. As my mom's illnesses progressed and took her away from her active social life, Helen remained an extremely loyal and concerned friend. I am grateful I got to know her a little bit myself and was privy to some of their astute and often humorous observations on life. I am glad Helen is now at peace and my sincere condolences to all Helen's family and friends. So sorry to be unable to join in the celebration tomorrow.
