Obituary for Derek Douglas Muzyka
Muzyka, Derek Douglas (D.K. Muz)
Suddenly as a result of a car accident on Friday, December 30, 2016 at the age of 44. He leaves behind his parents Cathy and Wayne Muzyka. He had a special affection for his brother and best friend Brad, sister-in-law Dale, niece Hayden and nephew Weston. Hayden and Weston were special in his life and gave Derek much joy and happiness. Also missed by many aunts and uncles, especially Shirley Smith (Brent), Eileen Dunn and Bob Lyons and by numerous cousins throughout Canada. Derek was thankful for such great friends in his life, especially Mark, Emil, Bill and Kirk. The family is grateful for this past Christmas spent with Derek as it was one of the most memorable, loving and happiest holidays in a long time. Derek was happy, with a never-ending smile on his face and they are thankful and comforted they had been blessed with such a joyous time with him. Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Thursday, January 5, 2017, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be at Trinity United Church, 100 Main Street West, Grimsby, on Friday, January 6, 2017, at 11 a.m. Cremation. If desired, memorial contributions to Grimsby Life Centre or Mission Services of Hamilton would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
