Condolences

Condolence From: Pat Dickinson
Condolence: It was wonderful to revisit memories of Evon at last night's visitation. She was an outstanding administrator at a time when it wasn't easy to be a woman in that position, establishing a high standard for everyone while also showing compassion and understanding. She gave me confidence as I re-entered teaching after a difficult period in my life. Her support for a 'student first' approach to learning that was both engaging and productive, set me on a positive course in my career. She touched many lives and truly made a difference.

Condolence: Love you Aunt Evon. Gonna miss you lots. You brought lots of joy and happiness to everyone you met. I remember many good memories at the Calabogie Cottage seeing you was like the greatest surprise when seeing you make it down after so many hours of a drive. We sure loved seeing you. I'll always keep you close to my heart and will never forget you. -Sean Jakes

Condolence: Evon was truly a gracious lady. We first met Evon when she was the principal of Paul A. Fisher School where our daughter attended. We had the pleasure of meeting her again in 2002 when we became neighbours. Her wonderful travel stories, discussions about current movies, world issues and stimulating conversations were always a joy. Her amazing attitude towards life was to be admired. She has left a great legacy of love, great respect and fond memories.

Condolence: I was blessed to have Evon as my principal at the beginning of my career. Evon, one of 3 female Halton principals at the time, set an example for my career and for my life, of how a woman, or any true leader, can show strength, professionalism, respect and compassion at the same time. She built up her staffs with trust, support, fun and high expectztions, always putting her students first, and her staff a close second. She was a most remarkable lady, and I will treasure her mentorship and warm, happy friendship always.
