Burlington Lions Club

Glen was a valued member of Burlington Nelson Lions Club now Burlington Lions Club for 32 years. He was known in our club as a tremendous person, a family man and a dedicated Lion. Some of his several accomplishments and contributions to the Burlington community include: - He was made a Life Member of Burlington Nelson Lions Club. -Past President , Treasurer, Secretary and Board Member of the Burlington Nelson Lions Club. - Past Manager of Burlington Lions Club Farmers Market. Many times he was at the market by 7:00 am after doing a late night shift at Bingo finishing at 1:00 am. He was very much involved in the relocation of the market from Guelph Line to Prospect Street. He was instrumental in selecting power supply options. This was followed by the generator installation with a limited budget and time frame for market opening day. - Past Bingo Chairman for the Burlington Nelson Lions Club Bingo program which included his wife & family in the schedule. - Past Chairman of the popular Seniors Christmas Lights tour to Niagara Falls each year sponsored by the Lions Club. - Organized Lions participation at soccer tournaments giving participants hot dogs, beverages and treats. - Glen always volunteered to participate in any Lions projects being organized as a community activity. - Lion Glen was recently nominated for Burlington Citizen of the Year award. We are pleased that Glen chose to be a member of the Lions Club during his lifetime. Blair Greer, President Burlington Lions Club
