Obituary for Barry James MacGowan

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at his home in Burlington, following a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 57. Beloved husband and best friend of Cathy MacGowan (nee Best) for 28 years. Cherished father of Laura, Jacob and Michael. Barry will be fondly remembered by his siblings Ann Wiseberg (Stan), Clark, Bruce (Debbie), John (Ann), Cathy’s parents Rev. Howard and Rhoda Best and brothers-in-law Steve (Lynn), Peter (Kim), Michael (Leila) and by his extended family and friends. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Tuesday from 3-5 & 7-9 pm, where a funeral service will take place on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 10:30 am. Cremation. If desired, donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
