It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of John on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at the age of 74. Survived by his cherished wife, Lory (nee Robinson). Loving father of Deanna Ross and her husband Murray Spearin, and Tanya Ross. Proud grandfather of Marissa, and Corbin. Predeceased by his parents Blair and Sue Ross. Survived by brother Jim and his wife Harriet. He will be dearly missed by his four legged friends at home. Well known as a dog show photographer and owner of Tanyetta Kennels. After retiring from the photography business John became a judge for International All-Breed dog shows. He was also a railroad fanatic, collector and railway photographer. John will be sadly missed by extended family and friends. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street (one block North of City Hall), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Friday, October 10, 2014 from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, October 11 at 9:30 AM. Interment at Woodland Cemetery to follow. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or OVC Pet Trust would be greatly appreciated.
