Bill passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant hospital in Burlington, Ontario on February 19, 2017 in his 89th year. He was a loving caring husband to June Watson (nee Murie) for 62 years who recently predeceased him in 2016. Loving father to Cameron and his wife Georgann, Peter, Victoria and her husband Bruce Henne and a caring grandfather to Cody and Alexandra Watson. Born in Hamilton, Bill retired from Stelco after 42 years of service at both Hilton Works and Lake Erie Works before moving to British Columbia in 1987. He had recently returned to Burlington. The youngest of four boys, Bill is survived by dear brother James Watson and predeceased by Robert Watson and Alexander Watson. He will be missed by many family and friends, especially those who shared his love and passion for downhill skiing. Service of Remembrance will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Friends are welcome to gather from 12 noon until the time of service. Reception to follow. Private cremation has taken place. If desired, donations made to the Nanaimo Hospital Foundation (BC) or War Amps Canada would be appreciated.
