Obituary for William Gordon Clark

CLARK, William Gordon-
1923-2010
Retired executive of the Ford Motor Company
It is with deep sadness that his family announces Bill's passing on April 9, 2010 at the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital. Loving husband and best friend of Nancy (nee Wilson) for 61 years. Proud and loving father of Susan and her husband Jim Malcolm of Long Point, Ontario; Bill and his wife Susan of Ottawa; Robert and his wife Kim of Toronto; and Peter and his wife Lisa of Ancaster. Beloved Grampa to Geoffrey Malcolm and his wife Karen: Alyson Clark, Michael Clark and his wife Kristin and great granddaughter, Leah; Christopher Clark and his wife Sarah, and Jonathan Clark; Abbey and Adam Clark. Also survived by his brother-in-law, Dr. Bill Wilson and his wife Marilyn of Ancaster. Bill was born in Hamilton, Ontario and spent his early years in Oshawa, before moving to Windsor in 1937. He served in the RCNVR during WWII. Upon his discharge, Bill attended Queen's University prior to joining the Ford Motor Company where he worked for 38 years. Longtime resident of Oakville and then Burlington where he was a longstanding member of the Burlington Golf and Country Club. Special thanks to Dr. Swanson, John Hynd and the nurses and staff of the JBMH for their caring support. The family will receive friends at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street, (one stoplight north of City Hall) BURLINGTON (905-632-3333) on Tuesday 3-5 & 7-9 pm. A Service of Remembrance will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 89 Dunn Street (at Lakeshore Road) Oakville on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 1p.m. Private Interment. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Knox Presbyterian Church, Oakville or the charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
