Obituary for William James Barlow

William James  Barlow
BARLOW, William James
Peacefully at Carpenter Hospice with
family at his side on Wednesday,
February 2, 2011 in his 79th year.
Beloved husband of Anne Barlow.
Loved father of Ruth Mitchell of
Stoney Creek, Susan Sinclair (Bud) of
Hamilton, James Barlow (Kathleen)
of Winona and the late Paul Barlow.
Cherished grandfather of Julia
(Matt), Jonathan, Sarah Guevarra
(Aaron), Spencer, Andrew and Amy.
Dear brother of Bruce Barlow
(Margaret), Patricia Thachuk (the
late Norman), the late Carol Spencer
and Paul Barlow. He will be sadly
missed by his nieces, nephews, his
relatives in Iceland and his many
friends. Bill was a master tool and
die maker, owner and past president
of Barlow Tool & Machine Ltd. and
Barlow Packaging Plus. He was an
avid boater and fisherman at Fifty
Point Marina, a member of both
Glendale and Burlington Golf and
Country Clubs. Bill also sat on the
Committee of Adjustment for
Burlington from 1967-1972. A
special thank you to Dr. Grzeslo, the
nursing staff at Joseph Brant and
especially to the nurses and
caregivers at Carpenter Hospice for
their kind and compassionate care.
Visitation at Smith's Funeral Home,
1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight
north of Q.E.W.) Burlington,
905-632-3333 on Sunday February 6,
from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral
service will be held at the funeral
home on Monday, February 7, 2011
at 1 p.m. Private entombment at
Bayview Mausoleum. If desired,
donations to the Carpenter Hospice
