After a short illness and in his 77th year, Doug passed into the arms of God on Sunday, February 20, 2011. Dearly loved husband, companion and friend of Deanna, his wife of 52 years. Survived by children Denise and Douglas (Debbie), grandchildren Russel and Paige, sister Pat Morris (Steve) of Dunnville, brother Alex (Marilyn), nephew Brandon and Cody and nieces Sheri and Kim and predeceased by brother Ian. Doug was a member of I.B.E.W. Local 105 and longtime employee of Procter and Gamble in Hamilton. He was an avid sportsman enjoying fishing, hunting and target shooting. Many thanks to the caring people that helped us in our time of need. In compliance with Doug's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial visitation will be held at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line, (one stop light north of QEW) BURLINGTON, (905-632-3333) on Sunday, February 27, 2011 from 3-5 p.m. Donations in memory of Doug to Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
