Obituary for Vivian Mildred Knowles

KNOWLES, Vivian Mildred (nee Link) - Peacefully passed away in her sleep at the Carpenter Hospice on January 1, 2006 in her 73rd year. We feel sorrow at the loss of a beloved wife, mother and nana. Left to mourn is her husband Jim, after celebrating their 50th Anniversary this past May. Beloved mother of Joni (Bill Bennett), Stoney Creek; Jeff (Sheri) and Janice (Henry Szustka), Burlington. Adored Nana of Mark, Meagan and Marissa Bennett, Breanne, Kellen, Hannah and Emily Knowles. Sister of Betty& Alf Hudson, Glenn & Ann Link, Vernon & Lucy Link. Sister-in-law of Betty Osborne, Joyce Link and Wayne Tonkinson. Predeceased by her parents Marvin and Mildred Link and brothers Don, Roger and sister-in-law Shirley. Vivian was a loyal and cherished friend to many, an accomplished seamstress, fabulous cook, avid gardener and a real perfectionist with everything she attempted. Member of St. Stephen United Church for almost 50 years. Retired from Sears Burlington Mall. The family would like to thank Dr. F. Moens and staff at the Cancer Clinic and all of the wonderful caring angels at the Carpenter Hospice. Visitation at SMITH`S FUNERAL HOME 1167 Guelph Line, (one stoplight north of QEW) BURLINGTON (905-632-3333) from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday and from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. on Thursday. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Stephen United Church, 2258 Parkway Drive, Burlington on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Family flowers only please, the family would gratefully appreciate donations to the Carpenter Hospice.
