MARTINDALE, Violet
Violet, affectionately known as “Nana Vi,” passed away peacefully and with family by her side at Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at the age of 90. Violet was loved by many and enjoyed 51 years of marriage with the late Tich Martindale. She was a loving mother to Janet (Colin Christie) and Linda. Cherished grandmother of Julie Kelly (Matt), Karen Strike (Brent), James Christie and great grandmother of Kayla, Beth, Conor and Emma. Violet is also remembered with great fondness by her cousins, Eileen and Derek Simkins and by her brother James Anderson (Audrey). Private Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at Walton United Church, 2489 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow at the church. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Violet to The CNIB would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
