Avolio, Vilma (nee Pasqua)-
Passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital, on Thursday, March 10, 2011, in her 64th year. Beloved wife of Fernando (Frank) Avolio, who took tremendous care of her throughout her life. Much loved mother of Carlo and his wife Rosanna and Franco and his wife Melissa, all of Stoney Creek. Cherished nonna of Selena, Sophia, Matteo, Dante and Gioia, who were the reason for her long and courageous fight. Survived also by many sisters, brothers and in-laws in Canada, Italy and the U.S. Vilma was described by many as a "miracle" and continually lived her life exceeding expectations. She touched the lives of more people than anyone ever knew. Special thanks to Dr. Arlen, Dr. Ludwin, Dr. Woods, Dr. Smith and all other doctors, nurses, the dialysis teams and caregivers who provided her with care and support. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Sunday from 2-5 and 7-9 pm. with funeral prayers at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, 200 Mount Albion Road, Hamilton, on Monday, March 14, 2011, at 10 am.
