Obituary for Susan Vare Trnka (Snell)

Susan Vare Trnka (Snell)
Susan Vare Trnka (nee Snell)
May 12, 1948- May 10, 2016

It is with broken hearts that we said goodbye to Susan, beloved wife of John (46 years) and cherished mother of Kerry (Bret) and Sandra. After a courageous fight with cancer, Susan passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side.

Survived by her siblings Gerry (Pauline), Liz (Hermann), Pat (Herman) and Chris (Rick), brother-in-law Paul (Carol), sister's-in-law Kathy (Bill) and Jean (John), her many nieces, nephews, and friends. Predeceased by parents Jim and Irene Snell, brother Barry, granddaughter Emma (stillborn), in-laws Paul and Katy Trnka, brother-in-law Mike, and cherished friend Stevie.

A volunteer for many years with the Burlington softball and baseball associations, Susan most enjoyed being the cheering section and score keeper extraordinaire at her husband and daughters' ball games. An accomplished quilter and knitter, she donated many of her creations to help local charities and inspired many smiles with her delicious baked goodies.

Every time we see a twinkling star we will be reminded that 'Momma Trnka' is looking down on us with that radiant smile of hers. She will always be loved and forever have a place in our hearts.

Visitation will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line, (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON, on Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 3-5pm, and on Monday, May 16, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. until a time of Funeral Service in the Chapel beginning at 10:30 a.m. Private cremation to follow. As an expression of sympathy, donation in Sue’s memory to The Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated.
