WEST, Steve -
With broken hearts, after a courageous battle with cancer Stephen Robert West passed away suddenly at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on Saturday December 17, 2016 at the age of 47. Survived by his loving wife Kristina Sheard West, their children Stephanie West, Jacob Sheard, Michael West and Kassandra Sheard, and furry companions Dexter and Thor. Dear son of Carol Huxley (Ed) and Brian West (Anne). Cherished brother of Diane Chisholm (Ray), Glenn Chisholm (Jill) and Cathy West. Dear son-in-law of both Tia Huybens and Jennie Sheard, and brother-in-law of Karen Porter and Andrew Sheard (John Brown). Steve will also be missed by many extended family and precious friends. He was a long time valued employee of RBC and will also be missed by many work colleagues. Visitation will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333, on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm, where a Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 10:30am with a reception to follow at the funeral home. Private cremation to follow. If desired, and in lieu of flowers, donations in Steve’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society directed towards research with Head and Neck Cancer would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
