HORNE, Sandra Millice (nee Frearson). It is with profound sadness and grieving hearts that we announce the passing on April 23, 2011 at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital in her 93rd year, with her loving family by her side. Beloved and devoted wife of the late James Edward for 63 years. Sandra will be greatly missed by her loving and devoted daughter Sandra Ehmann; dear sister Betty Place of Lakefield, Ontario; cherished grandchildren Kimberlee Harrison and husband Bruce, Keri Plouffe and Richard Fauman. Adoring great-grandmother to Carly and Melissa Harrison and Rachel Plouffe all of Burlington. Dear auntie to Susan Magee and Colin Campbell of B.C. and dear friend of Jean Campbell of B.C. and Carol Bebb of Burlington. Sandra was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend to many. She was loved by all who knew her. Her wonderful sense of humour and laughter would always fill any room. Sandra had a life-long extraordinary place in her heart for animals. Her passion and devotion was to rescue animals throughout her lifetime, rescuing many dogs and cats and giving them a loving home. Sandra retired from Environment Canada with 35 years of public service, including many years at CCIW and in association with Dr. Richard Vollenweider. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Brian Cameron of Burlington for all of his care and compassion. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of 4 East at the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital. In keeping with Sandra's wishes private cremation and family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Burlington Humane Society in Sandra's memory would be greatly appreciated by the family.
