Obituary for Ruth Eleanor Laven (Stowe)
LAVEN, Ruth Eleanor (nee Stowe)
Passed away at Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Charles (Mike) Laven. Loved mother of Judy Saunders (Ward), Greg (Elaine) Carol Malvis (Dave) and Mark (Cheryl). Cherished grandmother of Lee and Tahir, Brad and Shannon, Kyle, Darryl, Erin and Mike, Christopher, Ainsley and Bethany and great-grandmother of Jude and Hayden, Sofia and Ella, Oliver and Hudson. Dear sister of Bev Stowe (Laurene) and predeceased by sister Jessie Sloctor, brother, Robert Stowe (late Ruth) and sister Shirley Halliwell (late Albert). Also remembered by her nieces, great nephew and great nieces. Ruth was an amazing lady who was devoted not only to her family but the friends she made wherever she went. She was a longtime member of The Roseland Club and attended Burlington Baptist Church for many years. An artistic person, she was able to create anything she put her mind to. Private Cremation has taken place. A short service will be held at The Williamsburg Uptown Residence, 1893 Appleby Line, Burlington on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. followed by a celebration of life. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ruth to Burlington Baptist Church would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
