It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Metcalfe on Friday March 25, 2011 at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital resulting from complications of diabetes. Bob is survived by his loving wife Cathy of 32 years, his children Brenda (Eric), Troy (Bette), Tracy (Sally), Tim (Shelley) and grandchildren Joanne, Jerrett, Brian, Edward, Jenessa and Martin. Bob was a past Master of Masonic Lodge 181 (Port Burwell) and current member of Brant 663 of Burlington and the Rameses Hillbilly Clan No. 46. Bob was a past member of the Oakville Shrine Club, Burlington Old Timers Hockey Club and Burlington Radio Control Modelers.
We welcome everyone to join the family in attending a Memorial Service at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of the QEW) BURLINGTON (905-632-3333) on Saturday April 2, 2011 at 1pm. Reception will follow at the funeral home. Cathy and family would like to extend a sincere thanks and gratitude to the devoted staff of Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Carpenter Hospice, Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital Foundation or The Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
