Obituary for Robert Charles "Bob" Leedale

Robert Charles "Bob" Leedale
LEEDALE, Robert Charles

Passed away at Cama Woodlands Nursing Home, on Monday, July 3, 2017, at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Bev Leedale. Loving father of Jay (Tanya), Judy Pessotto (Pat), and Jeff (Lili). Proud grandfather of Alexandra, Paige, Erica, Jordan, and Jake. He is predeceased by his parents Charles and Hilda Leedale. Dearest brother in law of Ralph Gowan and the late Ken Gowan. Bob will always be remembered as a warm, compassionate and take charge guy who made friends in all he did. He was an athlete with a true competitive spirit always looking to improve. His tennis career was launched at Rosedale tennis club in Hamilton, and continued through his illustrious athletic tennis and basketball career at McMaster University. His tennis skills were admired by all who played with him at various local tennis clubs.. With his family and friends he could always be relied upon to rally the troops for a game, a fun competition or to get things moving one way or another. His family will dearly miss his spirit, his strong voice and his love for all of us. He was passionate about his career as an educator and about coaching high school athletics. He had a tremendous positive impact on students, staff and peers in the Hamilton secondary school system. Special thanks to all those who supported and became close with Bob and the family at Cama Woodlands. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 3-5 and 7-9. A Service of Remembrance will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 10:30 am. Reception to follow. For those who wish, donations in memory of Bob can be made to Parkinson Canada.
