Robert Black
Black, Robert S. (Bob)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Bob Black, on Sunday, June 27, 2010, at the age of 70, surrounded by his family. Bob is survived by his wife of 46 years, Bev Black; children Kim (Tim) Collins, Shawna (Jason) Sheldon and Rob (Kim) Black; and grandchildren Heather and James Sheldon and Taylor Black. Bob is fondly remembered by mother-in-law Edna Neun; sister-in-law Vivien (Chuck) Bennett and Lynn Mavety, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Characterized by an unyielding positive outlook, Bob was known to feel "Faaantastic!" every day. He lived life to the fullest and will be missed by his adoring family and countless friends. Bob devoted an enormous amount of time to Grimsby coaching and volunteering and he was in his 40th year of service with the Canadian Cancer Society. Our heartfelt thanks go to Dr. Donaghy and the nursing staff at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, in particular, Alicia, Anne, Jenn, Irene and Crystal. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. and at St. John's Presbyterian Church, 10 Mountain Street, Grimsby, on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, from 12 noon until time of Service of Remembrance at 1 pm.
