Passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton, on Friday, January 7, 2011, at the age of 90 years. Beloved wife of Alfonso. Dear mother of Carmela Ciampa and her husband Carlo and Guido Amendola. Cherished nonna of Nadia, Deanna and Katia. Dear sister of Lina Colantuoni, Carmine Acernese (Rosa) and Augusto Acernese (Giuseppina). Predeceased by her brothers Faustino, Vincenzo and Antonio. She will be remembered most for her strength, courage, hope and enduring love. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Sunday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, 304 Highway #8, Stoney Creek, on Monday, January 10, 2011, at 12 noon. Entombment Bayview Cemetery.
