Obituary for Pieter Van Dalen

Passed away peacefully at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, on Saturday, February 27, 2016, 11 days after his 90th birthday. Devoted husband to Corry for almost 65 years. Beloved father of Janet (Frank) Webster, Pete (Twyla), Cathy (Jim) Rowaan, John (Marg) and predeceased by Wilma in infancy. Proud grandfather of 12 (Jodie, P.J., Karin, Jennifer, Nikki, Brian, Suzanne, Andrew, Matthew, Krystal, David and Stephen) and great-grandfather of 10. Pieter was a veteran of The Netherlands Marine Corps, his admiration of Canadian Liberators influenced his decision to immigrate to Canada in 1953. Pieter was an employee of John Deere of Grimsby. Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Monday, February 29, 2016 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. where the Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 10 a.m. Reception to follow at the Funeral Home. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital would be sincerely appreciated by the family, in gratitude for their compassionate care.
