Wichartz, Peter -

The family is deeply saddened to announce that Peter passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 4, 2011, at the age of 68.

Beloved husband and best friend of Marilyn, for 44 years, and proud father of Christina (Chris) Phillips and Jamie (Alejandra) Wichartz. Much loved grandfather of Victoria, Daniel, Lola and Lexie. Predeceased by his parents Hans and Margaret Wichartz.

In addition to being a family man who loved spending time at the cottage and vacationing in Florida, Peter was the founder and President of Deliveries Unlimited for over 25 years.

Peter will be missed and fondly remembered by his extended family, friends and his monthly poker group of 38 years.

The Wichartz family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Derek Weatherdon, his nurse Cathy, the wonderful team of nurses with St. Elizabeth Health Care and the Red Cross care givers.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, March 10, 2011 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Stonehouse-Whitcomb Funeral Home, 11 Mountain Street, Grimsby (905-945-2755). Please join us for a celebration of his life on Friday, March 11, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Presbyterian Church, 10 Mountain Street, Grimsby. At Peter's request cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Peter's name to the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation, www.wlmhfoundation.ca would be appreciated by the family.
