Passed away at the Hamilton General Hospital on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the age of 63. Dearly loved daughter of Herta and the late Arnold Oelke. Predeceased by her in-laws Harvie and Audrey Montgomery. Beloved wife and best friend of Jim. Cherished mother of Marlena Montgomery, and Marcus Montgomery. Proud grandmother of Caleb, and Nathan. Monika will be dearly missed by her brothers Volker and his wife Nina, Steven and Kim, and sister Rosemary Rapcewicz. She will also be fondly remembered by her extended family, colleagues, and many friends. A loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother and friend. A Service of Remembrance will be held at Christ Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 448 Main Street West (Highway #8), Grimsby, on Monday, June 6, 2016 at 11 a.m. If desired, memorial contributions to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. (Arrangements entrusted to SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, Stoney Creek, 905-664-4222).
