Obituary for Miroslaw Bogdan "Mirek" Konarski
KONARSKI, Miroslaw “Mirek” -
Passed away peacefully at the Carpenter Hospice, Burlington, on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at the age of 61 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Loving husband and best friend to Janina Konarski (nee Ligas) for 25 years. Devoted and loving father to sons Christopher and Daniel. Dear son of Krystyna and brother to Bozena Jankowska (Pawel Jankowski) of Poland. Mirek will also be missed by his cousin Wiesa Banasiak (Waldek), and sister-in-law Czeslawa Rudziejewski (Stainslaw). Loving uncle of Marta Jankowska , Kasia Banasiak, and Waldek, Kasia, Philp, and Mateo Rudziejewski. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the nurses, doctors and professional health care workers for their extraordinary care at the Hamilton General Hospital, Joseph Brant Hospital, and Juravinski Hospital. As well as a big thank you to the wonderful staff at the Carpenter Hospice for providing such a warm and friendly atmosphere in his final weeks. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line, BURLINGTON (one stoplight north of the QEW), 905-632-3333, on Friday, September 25, 2015 from 6-9pm, with vigil service at 8pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church (2261 Parkway Drive, Burlington), on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 10:30am. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery to immediately follow the Funeral Mass. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Carpenter Hospice or the Cancer Assistance Program in Mirek’s memory would be greatly appreciated.
