Obituary for Miriam Ira Lambert

Miriam Ira Lambert
In her 88th year (December 22, 1923 â€" February 6, 2011) peacefully at the Carpenter Hospice, Burlington on February 6, 2011, with the dignity of the lady that she was. After an unexpected, but courageous battle with cancer, Miriam has gone to join her beloved husband Ted (1986). Loving and protective Mother of her only child Ron (special daughter in law Margaret) and very proud Grammie to much loved Grandchildren Ryan and Carly (Jack). Miriam was a very proud Veteran of the British Navy serving in World War 2, where she met her husband Ted in 1941 at her home and port of Plymouth, England. Miriam served the Medical Community of Burlington for many years both professionally and recently as a volunteer at the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital and touched many patients and friends with her caring and friendly attitude. She will be missed by her many friends and neighbors, as she always had time for a "Hello" and a coffee. Cremation has taken place and in keeping with her wishes visitation will be held at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street, (one block north of City Hall) BURLINGTON, (905-632-3333) on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, February 10, 2011 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., with Memorial Service at 10:30 a.m. Sincere thanks to the very special Volunteers and Staff of the Carpenter Hospice for their care of our Mum and Grammie in the last two weeks. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Carpenter Hospice or Danielle's Place would be appreciated by the Family.
