Obituary for Michael Groleau

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, cherished father and loyal companion Michael Joseph Groleau on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the Hamilton General Hospital, in his 59th year. Cherished husband of Ellie Groleau (nee Adamo). Devoted dad of Jessie and Michael Volpe and Katie. Best friend and companion of Macy. Predeceased by his parents Albert and Kay Groleau and in-laws Arnaldo and Luisa Adamo. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Ken and Lou Ann Groleau, Diane and Paul Stratford and Marisa and John De Luca. Michael will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Michael was an official with the Lakeshore Football Association for over 43 years. He was also past president of the Canadian Football Officials Association. He was awarded the Tom Cheney Award for his outstanding contribution and services to football. Michael was a devoted teacher at Cardinal Newman Catholic Secondary School. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Sunday from 4-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 10 a.m. Private cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the CAP (Cancer Assistance Program) would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
