VANCAS, JOSEFIK, Mary (nee Hribljan)
Mary was born on January 26, 1912 in Stamford, Connecticut. She died peacefully on Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital in Burlington, Ontario. Beloved wife of the late Ivan Vancas (1956) and the late John Josefik (1979). Loving mother of Mike Vancas of Burlington, Ivan Vancas of Hamilton, Mary Vancas and her husband Dr. John Mathers of Burlington and Minnesota, Steve Vancas and his wife Jeanine of France and Vicki Vancas of Toronto. Sister of the late Milka Cackovic of Croatia, Alojz Hribljan and his wife Sofija of Croatia, the late Ivan Hribljan of Croatia and his wife Janica of Hamilton, Mike Hribljan and his wife Margaret of Burlington. A longtime member of the Croatian Fraternal Union (CFU) Lodge # 954 and the Croatian National Home of Hamilton. Mary will always be remembered for the love, generosity and devotion she had for her family and friends. Visitation at SMITH`S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street, (one block north of City Hall) BURLINGTON (905-632-3333) on Sunday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. with vigil prayers at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Brant Street at Blairholm, Burlington on Monday, July 10, 2006 at 10 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington.
